Country life in winter

A winter holiday at Balzenhof means getting to know real country life, life in and with nature.
On the farms in the Upper Black Forest, winter is a quieter time of year and you can enjoy the cosiness of the rustic farmhouses.
Around the farm there are slopes for tobogganing or cross-country – Skiing – and directly from your balcony you can admire the skiers on the opposite slope.

Experience winter sports in the Black Forest

Skiing

Several ski resorts in the immediate vicinity of the Balzenhof attract skiers and snowboarders during the cold months. With a total of 60 lifts, ambitious skiers can experience pistes for beginners or advanced skiers. Ski and snowboard schools and winter sports facilities make skiing in the Upper Black Forest an unmistakable winter sports experience.

Cross-country Skiing

More than 700 km of cross-country trails are prepared in the Hochschwarzwald by more than 22 cross-country track machines. An Eldorado for cross-country skiers and skaters. The entire cross-country ski trail network has been certified and uniformly signposted by the German Ski Association. Most cross-country ski tracks are classic and also groomed for skaters. Various cross-country ski trail houses and refuges are available for cross-country skiers along the way.

Toboggan

Sledging is child’s play and suitable for all ages. From children’s toboggan runs to spectacular toboggan runs, we can offer the full range from Hof and in the region.

Snowshoeing

In the Hochschwarzwald the signposted snowshoe trails invite you to embark on a voyage of discovery. Who wouldn’t like to be the first to trace the seemingly endless, glittering white and shake off everyday life and come to rest off the beaten winter hiking trails and pistes? Snowshoeing is easy and a sport for young and old.

Sledging, snowball fights and building snowmen – white winters are a real pleasure for children.

Our farm is situated at an altitude of 3050 feet and in snow-covered landscapes, with snow crystals on the trees, you can enjoy the winter.

Skiing for children, tobogganing, ice skating or even a horse-drawn sleigh ride – everything is possible here in the Black Forest.

And if you get enough cold noses, you can relax in the warmth of the indoor swimming pools in the region.
