Farm holidays
Welcome to the Balzenhof
We are a farming family – farmers Christoph and Ulrike with our children’s Simon, Elia and Laura, are hosts who are passionate about our farm. With us your vacation on the farm will be in the midst of nature.
Granny Hilda and Grandpa Leo, who live in the Leibgedinghaus, also belong to the life of our farm.
We stick together as a family and all pull together so that you can enjoy your holiday in the Black Forest. Spend the most beautiful time of the year in our holiday apartments on the Balzenhof – we look forward to seeing you!
Hospitality lies with us in the family
Discover your farm paradise
Our family-friendly farm lies in the middle of meadows and woods in a quiet location in the Jostal valley.
In this beautiful landscape, our Balzenhof offers you adventure, relaxation and variety and a break from everyday life.
We practice ecological agriculture with suckler cow husbandry and forestry. The cows and calves are in the pasture day and night during the summer, and in the winter they live in the stable.
Visiting children are welcome to help with our animals!
Our donkeys, cats, rabbits and chickens as well as our dog Paule love visitors, lots of petting and are used to children.
Balzenhof in those days
The Blazenhof was first mentioned in 1318. There the estate was sold by Count Heinrich von Fürstenberg to the Friedenweiler Monastery.
Since 1598 the Balzenhof has been in family ownership.
In 1642 the farm burned down and was rebuilt until 1665.
The Balzenhof is named after Balthasar (Balz). He was farmer no. 7 on the Balzenhof.
Christoph Hog is currently the 17th farmer.
Tradition is in our blood.
